What is currently being discussed in the Austrian educational landscape has been part of our everyday school life for nearly ten years: the six-year elementary school.
More than 100 years ago, Maria Montessori recognized how valuable a continuous learning and developmental environment is for children ages six to twelve.
We are all the more delighted that Alexandra, as a representative of the Austrian Montessori Society (ÖMG), was invited to join the Minister of Education’s working group on the six-year elementary school and has already participated in an initial meeting.
This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute our many years of experience and our pedagogical expertise to the further development of the Austrian educational landscape.
After all, what is still a distant dream elsewhere has long been part of our everyday school life.
