“It´s principal feature never changes. It is “application to work”. An interesting piece of work, freely chosen, which has the virtue of inducing concentration rather than fatigue, adds to the child´s energies and mental capacities, and leads him to self-mastery.
Maria Montessori, The Absorbent Mind

The Development of Children

Because a child’s development needs to be seen as a big picture, the children can benefit greatly from a Montessori education starting from birth to maturity. We accompany and guide the children in their independent development in accordance with their personal needs.

The Self-Construction

The child constructs their personality independently. All possibilities of the development of one’s personality are innate to a child. Maria Montessori emphasized that this development follows an individual plan in a pace which cannot be determined by adults, but only by the children themselves. Maria Montessori discovered and developed methods in which the self-activity of children can be assisted in the best possible way.

The Planes of Development

Maria Montessori adapted the children’s learning environment according to the necessities of their development; the Children’s House for the 3–6 year old children, the Primary school for the 6–12 year old children and the Erdkinder school for the 12–18 year old adolescents.
Every Plane of Development is a continuation and expansion of the previous plane. Our school children are very curious and want to know and comprehend everything about the world they live in. Maria Montessori responded to their needs with a Prepared Environment for 6–12 year old children that we provide in our classrooms.
